Points:
- God expects you to give (Mal 3:7)
- There are many ways we can wonder away from God and one of those ways is in our giving to God
- Question for reflection: In relation to your resources, have you strayed from God? As you examine your life and what God has done for you, have you remained faithful to Him in all your ways (including your giving back to Him)?
- God wants us to examine our giving (Matthew 22:16-21)
- Whoever it is that God allows to be in charge of us, we must be obedient and give to them what is due but also give what is due to God
- E.g If you are to work 8 hours, give your employer their 8 hours; If you are to pay taxes, pay the prescribed amount;
- When you give, you will start to see the fruits
- Give to God because of who He is but also give to the government because they manage the society which you are a part of (Matthew 22:16-21)
- Whoever it is that God allows to be in charge of us, we must be obedient and give to them what is due but also give what is due to God
- Recap points:
- God expects us to give
- As we give, we must examine what is before us (don’t give your rent to God but give Him what is due)
- Is this the best I can give to God? Is this what He deserves?
- Be sensitive to the voice of God in relation to your giving
- Whatever it is that you have been giving, have you been convicted by the Spirit of God to give that or are you giving what is “legally” right?
