Points:

• Deny yourself
  • What does it mean to deny yourself?
    • Recognising that there is “something” that there is more important that yourself.
    • Putting the betterment of others above personal pleasures.
    • Following Jesus is uncomfortable.
• Take Up Your Cross Daily
  • The journey also includes carrying burdens. Not just your own but the burdens of others.
  • You will have to consistently carry this “cross”.
• Being Obedient to the Word of God
  • If you really want to show your love for Christ, follow what He left for you to do
    • The Bible is the “God-Breathed Word”, as such, we must follow it
• Lose your Life
  • This does not literally mean dying, it means to put God’s desires above our own
• Recap points:
  • God expects us to deny ourselves
  • God expects us to take up our crosses daily
  • God expects us to be obedient to Him
  • God expects us to put His desires first
  • God expects us to be bold and represent Him well.
  • All of your life must be centred around pleasing God
