Points:
- The Christian life is a rough and rocky road but very rewarding.
- In the midst of our challenges, the word of God is telling us to stand firm
In order to live a victorious life we must:
- Submit
- Resist
- Flee
- Submit to God
- Submit:- to accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of that individual subject to a particular process treatment or condition.
- Submitting to the authority of God means submitting to who He is, not what he can do for you.
- Love God because of who He is and what He represents
- God has a will and a purpose for our lives and it doesn’t always match our desires.
- Submitting to God means we may go through conditions and circumstances that we don’t want to go through. We have to allow them to mould us and groom us into the person God wants us to be. We must trust Him to take us through the situations He leads us to.
- “Count it all joy…” – James 1:2-4
- Submission is an important part of being a good believer.
- Resist the Devil
- Resist: to exert oneself so as to counteract or defeat something or someone; to withstand the force or effect of something
- To resist the devil is to counteract or defeat the devil
- It is very difficult to resist the devil sometimes, especially when he presents us with something that we like
- Being able to resist the devil is dependent on your willingness to submit to God.
- You have to follow His word and read the Bible for yourself.
- Stand firm on the promises
- Flee
- Flee:- To run away from a place or situation of danger; Hurry towards a place of security
- When we submit to God and stand on His promises to resist the Devil, he will run away recognising that he is in danger
- When the enemy recognises the presence of God in your life and the authority of God that controls your life he will run away.
- We can flee to God as He will protect us
