Points:
- Submit (definition) – to yield to governance or authority; to subject to a condition, a treatment or operation; to present or propose to another for review, consideration or decision
- Submission means you would have recognised or identified that something or someone is at a higher position and you are now subjecting yourself to him/her/it.
- Submission requires:
- Putting away of our “position” or “status” in life
- Many people allow their status and position to get in the way of true submission
- Even though God may give you a position of authority, recognise that it is not for people to submit you but for YOU to submit to people.
- Submission involves:
- Yielding to God’s purpose and plans – putting what God wills above our own desires and views (Luke 22:42)
- Recap points:
- Submitting our position and status
- We can’t allow the authority that God has given us to stand in the way of our submission and our duty to others
- Do not Lord your authority over others
- Be willing to submit your will and your way to God
