Points:
- When we share the love of God and the word of God or our experiences in Christ, the message may be rejected. Don’t be discouraged, we aren’t called to save people, we are called to share the word.
- Nobody is too far gone for God to save them.
- The Great commission given many decades ago, is still relevant today.
- Sometimes we are afraid to share the word of God. The devil drives fear into our hearts to prevent us from sharing the love of Jesus with others. We should use all opportunities to share the love of God.
- The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power. Therefore, we must use the power given to us to win the lost for Jesus Christ.
- Friendships are important. When we can relate to others, we can share the love of God with them
- We have to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. But in order to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, it is important for us to have a relationship with Jesus Christ
- The Authority of Jesus:Matt 28:18
- A statement of power begins the Great Commission
- It’s a reminder that when we go out to evangelise, we are not alone, we are going with this authority, not our own strength or power.
- Jesus has supreme authority so when He sends us, He goes with us.
- Obedience to God is important. Disobedience, puts us in danger.
- You can’t hide from God.
- Jesus has the final say over who we speak to, what we say, the situations we face and the final results.
- We serve a powerful God who is able to do far more than we can think or imagine. Let us trust Him with everything, our lives, families and situations.
- We have to start by evangelising in our homes.
- Praying for unsaved family members
- Setting the example with the way we live
- Be ambassadors for Christ where we live and work. People should know that you are saved by how you live!
- The Urgency of the Mission: Matt. 28:19
- The Bible prophecies about end times are being fulfilled before our eyes.
- We have to treat our mission with urgency.
- We all have a part to play, we can’t make excuses or wait on the pastor or evangelist to do it.
- We must commit to reaching at least one soul for the Lord.
- Each conversation we have is an opportunity to share about Christ.
- When you engage persons in conversation, be prepared to listen.
- The scripture says “Go and make disciples”. It is an action word. It’s not something you do when you feel like or have time. It is something you must make time for and prioritise.
- Evangelism is a mission that demands action and urgency.
- We shouldn’t give God our “spare time”, we must make time for God. We must give God our best!
- Make disciples wherever God has placed you.
- The time is now! Stop waiting for the perfect moment.
- There are people who are searching for answers, which we have. They won’t get these answers if we stay in our comfort zones. We must go out and reach out!
- The Assurance of His Presence: Matt. 28:20
- He is with us always, even unto the end of the earth.
- If He sends us, He is going to equip us with the tools needed to go
- Evangelism can be intimidating, but Jesus promises that He is with us always, which is the assurance we should need to step out with Boldness.
- When you pray, you must pray believing that God is going to do what we ask.
- “Prayer is the key to the kingdom and faith opens the door”
- Reflection:
- Have I answered the call of the great commission?
- Have I been doing much for the Lord where He has placed me?
- How can I be part of the mission?
- Have I answered the call of Jesus on my life?
- Who is God calling me to reach?
- Am I living in my purpose?
