Points:
- What side are you on?
- What position are you playing?
- Are you ready for victory?
What Side are you on?
- Believers are in a constant spiritual war
- Where did this war begin?
- Rev 9 & 12:9
- There are two sides in the spiritual war:
- The side where heaven resides (Coach: God)
- The side where the enemy is in control (Coach: Satan)
- Bear in mind that the war is not over because one battle is lost – even though the enemy (Satan and his angels) was “thrown down” and “lost” that battle, in the mind of Satan, it’s not over.
- When the devil was thrown down he took angels with him. Those angels are now called demons
- NB: These “angels” are not powerless
- The reality is that Christians face daily attacks from the enemy. These attacks take different forms, physical illness, mental challenges, etc. Anything the devil can do to stop you from carrying out the purposes of God, he will try it.
- Satan’s goal is to accuse and destroy and commit all manner of evil acts against Christians. (Rev 12:10)
- Just because things may not be going well or as expected (or hoped), it doesn’t mean that God is no longer with you and in control. Rather, it means the devil is doing what he is aiming to do.
What Position are you playing?
- The Bible indicates that the enemy is enraged and angry with God and ultimately the people of God. (vs 17)
- IF the enemy is enraged, what response must the people of God have?
- We must protect ourselves while remaining ready to attack. – Ephesians 6:10-19
- We are not fighting against flesh and blood, so we can’t use a physical weapon to fight our battles – Ephesians .6:12
- Don’t be confused by the fact that the devil and his angels were thrown down to the earth, with the thought that they only have earthly powers. This is not the case!!
Are you ready for victory?
- In this warfare we are already victorious and we must walk accordingly
- We must prepare to be victorious against our trials and not expect defeat as long as we are walking in the will of God.
