Proposition: “The cost of not following Jesus Christ is to pursue ends that can be called ideal but to still find them illusive. To open ourselves to instability, a lack of direction and sustainability. To open ourselves to be carried away by every new doctrine.”
Points:
- The cost of not being a disciple is to be wedded to the wrong things. Things that will keep us from eternal life, but things we can’t keep.
- The cost of not being a disciple is to be majoring on what is not most major, taking Jesus Christ into consideration.
- 4 T’s that categorize what pull/push we get that crowds out the quality of life God has called us to:
- Temporal
- Temporary
- Transient
- Transitory
- The cost of foolishness is to rush without considering consequences and outcomes.
- The cost of not being a disciple, is to die for the wrong cause
- The cost of discipleship is to recognize the greatest bargain you will ever get.
