Points:

  • Hard times are not restricted to a specific set of people. All believers will all experience rough times at some point (John 16:33; Eph 6:12)
  • Life is a battleground
  • The battlefield for some is physical pain, while for others it might be financial difficulties or other things.
  • Be assured that God knows what we are going through. Be it trials, frustration, anxiety, anger, etc.
All the bitter weary ways,
Endless striving day by day
You barely have the strength to pray
In the valley low
And how hard your fight has been
How deep the pain within
Wounds that no one else has seen
Hurts too much to show
All the doubt you're standing in between

[Chorus:]
He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
Let your burdens come undone
Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
He knows
He knows

Jeremy Campbell - He Knows

Because God knows the reality, he responds to our thoughts and needs:

  • He hears and He answers the prayers offered by Jesus on our behalf (Luke 22:31-32)
    • Jesus saw the need to pray for all believers (John 17:20)
    • Jesus Prayed for all believers, this is a source of encouragement
  • The Lord will never leave us or forsake us
    • We should believe this by faith
    • The Lord is fully aware of what we are going through and responds when we go through hard times
  • God promised He would meet All of our needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19)
    • God can provide even when WE don’t see the way.
    • We must take God at His word.
  • When the going gets rough, turn to Jesus as He is faithful and just
  • Reflection points:
    • How best can we as God’s children, respond to this love so freely extended to us?
