Points:

• Forget the things behind us (vs 13b)
  • Forgetting: – to cease to be affected by
    • The opposite of remembering
• Stop looking at how others are doing (in the “race”)
• Foresee the things before us (vs 13 & 14)
  • Separating ourselves from the things of this world
  • Presenting ourselves to God daily
  • Control ourselves so that our passions and emotions don’t get the better of us
  • Think positively about the things that are virtuous
  • Submit ourselves to one another to maintain a positive relationship
  • Grow in the knowledge and grace of Christ
  • Loving one another
• Function in the things leading to maturity
  • Do not be haughty!
